Homowo Community Outreach: Girl Child Evolvement, A Shared Community Responsibility

On 21st September 2024, we organized our first major community outreach with the theme "Girl Child Evolvement, A Shared Community Responsibility" at the Jordan Methodist premises. The outreach featured a parents' seminar, girls' seminar, boys' seminar, general deworming, iron supplementation, eye screening, breast screening, HIV screening, vitals check, general consultation, book sharing, and mentorship sessions.

Speakers included Hon. Nana Oye Bampoe-Addo, Hon. Dr. Gladys Norley Ashitey, and Mrs. Anne Sarpong Esq. Forty-five fellows and volunteers were in attendance, and the Breast Society of Ghana sent four representatives to assist with breast examinations and follow-up. Approximately 187 girls, 162 boys and 150 parents took part — a very well appreciated and impactful interaction with our community.
